Creative Loafing’s Thomas Wheatley reports on big plans for developing a fairly massive amount of green space and park land in NW Atlanta, around Vine City. This is an area that needs parks, along with the potential incentive for economic investment they provide.
Atlanta invested a lot of money in this area building MARTA train lines in the 1970s & 80s. Decades later, with transit connectivity in place, it’s long past time to follow up with a strong effort to bring added livability.
Vine City has attracted much attention over the years as a place that could blossom with economic revitalization, drawing the interest of no less than Prince Charles whose foundation invests in urban areas in need.
