A Bakery in Atlanta’s Old-School Transit Oriented Development

cityhaul:

The best kind of TOD is the kind you can eat.

Ha! I agree.

These photos from Cityhaul are of Dough Bakery, a pretty cool place across from the Reynoldstown/Inman Park MARTA station. It’s in the space that was last occupied by Son’s Place.

Dough makes pastries and breakfast/lunch sandwiches, all without the use of animal products. Their sandwiches have imitation meats. I’ve been a few times for pastry and coffee, both good. I have yet to try the sandwiches, though I plan to.

Give it a try when you’re in the area. It’s a short hop from the train station or a very pleasant 1/2 mile trip through Inman Park from the Beltline (which supposedly opens this fall). BTW, if you’re in this area and are looking for bike racks, you’ll find a bunch on the east side of this MARTA station.

And in case anyone wants to argue that this isn’t really a Transit Oriented Development, take a look at the history of Inman Park, Atlanta’s first streetcar suburb. Old-school TOD.
