My bus stop

This is why a transit fan like me drives to work most of the time. The bus stop in front of my office on Clairmont Road has no sidewalk. The dirt turns to mud in the rain. The road opening is widely curved so cars can whip in quickly without looking for pedestrians.

For a county served by MARTA, Dekalb has too many spots like this that are downright hostile to pedestrians. This situation keeps bus riders in a second-class position.

Better pedestrian infrastructure would do a lot for boosting the image of bus transit and boosting ridership.
