Architecture Tourist looks at Sacred Heart towers
The Architecture Tourist blog takes a look at a couple of downtown Atlanta’s iconic towers, those of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church on Peachtree Street. Specifically, he explores the way they contrast with their surrounding neighbors.
It’s a nice post and it reminds me of how much I enjoy seeing the different architectural styles downtown and the way they contrast (sometimes jarringly) with each other in interesting ways.
Speaking of downtown churches, we stopped by the Central Presbyterian Church on Peachtree (across from the Capitol) a couple of weeks ago to see if we could take a peak inside. A staffer was nice enough to give us a full tour. It’s a beautiful 1885 building and I recommend a visit.
